Violin virtuoso Haik Kazazyan regularly plays concerts in many countries including the United States, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Poland, France, Switzerland and Israel.



Haik Kazazyan was born in Yerevan, in 1982. In 1989 he entered the Sayat-Nova Music School.

In 1994-1995 he won several national competitions and also the ‘Grand Prix’ at the ‘Amadeus-95’ Competition. After that he was invited to Belgium and France for recitals.

In 1996 Haik moved to Moscow and enrolled in the class of Professor E. Gratch at the music school named after Gnessin.

In 1997 he took part in the international competition for violinists in Germany (in the castle ‘Kloster Schontall’) and received second prize and special prize for masterly performance.

In 1999 at the 2nd international competition named after A.Yampolsky he won the second prize.

In 2000 at The All Russia Competition, ‘New Names,’ with a piano trio he received the ‘Grand Prize.’

In 2001 at the XII International “H. Wieniawski” Competition in Poland he received third premium and special prizes for the best performance of the Polonaise by Wieniawski.

In 2002 he became the laureate of the XIIth International P. I. Tchaikovsky Competition taking the fourth prize and 3 special prizes offered by the ‘Culture’ television channel from the Moscow State Conservatory, and from the ‘New Names’ foundation.

In 2004 at the International Violin Competition in Sion-Valais (Switzerland), Haik received first prize, the prize of ‘Children Jury’ and also the public prize.

In 2005 he received 3rd prize and public prize in Paris at the ‘Long/Thibaud’ competition.

Since 2002 he has been a soloist for the Moscow Philharmonic Society.

Haik has performed at many festivals, such as the ‘Festival de Musique’ of Shlomo Mintz (Switzerland), ‘Arts Square’ of Yuri Temirkanov (St. Petersburg), ‘Moscow Kremlin,’ ‘Primavera Classica’ (Moscow) and many others.

He also performed in Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium) in New York; in Great, Main and Rachmaninov Halls of Moscow Conservatory, in Tchaikovsky Hall (Moscow); ‘Victoria Hall’ in Geneva; ‘Barbican Hall’ in London; ‘Usher Hall’ in Edinburgh, etc.

Mr. Kazazyan has performed with the Scottish Royal Orchestra under conductor A.Lazarev, the Russian Chamber Orchestra and the Russian National Orchestra with C. Orbelian conducting, the Chamber orchestra ‘Moscovia’ with his professor E. Gratch, Dublin National Orchestra and others.

In his role as teacher, Haik Kazazyan often offers masterclasses with Shlomo Mintz, Ida Haendel and others.
