Piano virtuoso Valeria Vetruccio has been awarded prizes in over fifty national and international competitions.



Dr. Valeria Vetruccio performs with orchestras, as a soloist and in chamber groups. After her debut recital abroad at the age of 17, at the Wiener-Saal in Salzburg, she performed in many countries, including Belgium, Austria, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, Mexico.

In 1999 she debuted in the United States with a recital at the Lang Recital Hall in New York, followed, in 2002, by a recital in Carnegie Hall.

Dr. Vetruccio has been a soloist with many Symphony and Chamber Orchestras, including, in Italy: Orchestra of the Conservatory “T.Schipa,” Eurorchestra; “Carlo Felice” Theatre Orchestra; "C.P.E.Bach" Chamber Orchestra; and Magna Grecia Orchestra. In the USA she has played in Texas with the Meadows Symphony and Meadows Chamber Orchestra, in Dallas, and San Angelo Symphony and Irving Symphony. In Mexico, she performed with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Jalisco.

An Italian, Valeria received her under-graduate degree at the State Conservatory “T.Schipa” in Lecce, “summa cum laude,” under the tutelage of Prof. Bruno V. Massaro. She was also a student of Aquiles Delle Vigne, Franco Scala and Riccardo Risaliti.

At the age of 15, she started her concert career playing in many major Italian cities, including Rome (Villa Torlonia), Venice (Pala-Fenice), Genoa (Palazzo Ducale), Bari (Circolo Unione and Teatro Di Cagno) and in Lecce (Teatro Paisiello and Teatro Politeama Greco).

Being the winner of a full scholarship, she earned her Master’s Degree in Music at Southern Methodist University in Dallas under the tutelage of Prof. Joaquin Achucarro. She also took part in the courses and master classes of Gyorgy Sandor and Alfred Mouledous (former student of A. Cortot and W. Gieseking).

Valeria recently recorded the Prokofiev Concerto n. 3 op. 26 with the Irving Symphony Orchestra (USA), with Maestro Hector Guzman conducting.

In addition to her music career, Ms. Vetruccio has been awarded a Doctoral Degree in Anthropology at the Lecce State University in Italy.
