The Solistas de Londrina Chamber Orchestra celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and commemorates an entire decade of captivating performances, remarkable recordings and important awards.
An ensemble of 13 artistically highly qualified musicians directed by the Spalla Evgueni Ratchev , the orchestra produced one of the most interesting classical music proposals in Brazil , investing, since its creation, in the education of new audiences and new professionals.
Like other chamber orchestras around the world, it realizes a number of concerts within the artistic concept of performing without a conductor.
The objective is to always improve their art, by maintaining an extremely professional ensemble with the best soloists. In the national orchestras scenario, the "Solistas de Londrina" is recognized for its professionalism , high technical level and representation in the Brazilian music culture.
The "Solistas de Londrina" Chamber Orchestra has performed with internationally famous soloists such as oboe player Alex Klein, cellist Antonio Lauro Del Claro, guitar players Yamandú Costa and Fábio Zanon, violinists Tânia Camargo Guarnieri, Eva Szekely, Evgenia -Maria Popova and Alessandro Borgomanero, oboe player Bojin Nedelman, viola player Jairo Alves , Duo Henosis, among others.
Besides the traditional Erudite music repertoire, the orchestra has also worked towards promoting Brazilian music everywhere.
In 2001 , the ensemble was among the "Rumos Itaú Cultural" Contest pre-finalists for the Paraná and Santa Catarina regions.
In 2002 , the orchestra released the CD "Imagens Brasileiras"(Brazilian Images) , with music from great Brazilian classical music composers , a professional milestone for the orchestra, and the beginning of two important projects: "Concertos nas Igrejas" (Church Concerts) and "Concertos Paraná"( Paraná Concerts) , opening the doors to erudite music for many communities, creating a new public for this music style.
Due to its outstanding performance of Carlos Gomes's Sonata for Strings, recorded in the CD "Imagens Brasileiras" (Brazilian Images), the orchestra was selected to participate in the Família Imperial- Album de Retratos ( The Imperial Family Project- Picture Album) project , developed by the Museu Imperial (Imperial Museum) , and begins its performance in the CD with works from the Brazilian composer.
Since its creation, the orchestra has performed in the most representative music festivals around the country. The composer himself selected the orchestra to record the soundtrack of the animation movie "Marsupilami" produced by the French Yellowshark.
In 2003, the CD "Imagens Brasileiras" (Brazilian Images) received national recognition when it was awarded three important national prizes:
PREMIO TIM DE MÚSICA BRASILEIRA
(former Prêmio Sharp)
in the following categories
BEST ERUDITE CD AND VISUAL ART
